Whitby Gospel Music Convention announce bill

THE ANNUAL event geared at country and Southern gospel enthusiasts, Whitby Gospel Music Convention, takes place on 17th to 19th May. The event, now in its third year, takes place at Whitby Pavilion. The line up this year will feature American country music ambassador George Hamilton IV; Birmingham country team Inheritance; Northern Ireland singer Amy Roberts; Scottish Southern gospel group the Gospel Heirs; husband and wife worship duo Dave and Sue Clemo; Northern Ireland harmony group Calvary Quartet; and the event's organiser, popular singer Paul Wheater. Another attraction will be the author and broadcaster Paul Davis presenting The Ira Sankey Story.

Said Paul Wheater about the event, "Ticket sales are running at 50% higher than for last year's event, which was itself a great success, with people traveling from all over Britain to attend. Great excitement is again building for this unique event. Many people who have watched the Gaither videos are now fans of Southern gospel music. It is fitting that Whitby with its early history of Christianity should be the venue." For more information visit www.paulwheater.com
