There has been a merger between two Christian youth organisations namely Youth For Christ and Covenanters

THE TWO youth organisations Youth For Christ and Covenanters ('Covies') have merged. Said YFC's Ray Crowne, "Bringing together two of the strongest and most significant youth organisations in Britain will bring two major benefits. Firstly we will be able to offer churches better resources to help and inspire them as they carry out week in, week out, youth work. Secondly, it will significantly improve our overall regional strategy, as the new critical mass will better enable us to integrate our various ministries. Our overriding concern has always been to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to young people where they are and we see this partnership style approach as the best way to achieve this in the future."

Following the merger the Covies office in Stockport will be closed and staff transferred to YFC's head office in Halesowen to establish the new department. Paul Wilcox, National Director of Covies, will join YFC's leadership team and all Covies' staff will be offered jobs within the new department. CR
