It has been over five years since Glasgow's Adam Baker released his first CD, 'Open Skies'. During this time he has attended Bible College, released the album 'Your Eyes' and now returns with these eight self-penned tracks exploring the general theme of hope. Lyrically, Adam demonstrates considerable skill. "Carry You" presents God carrying his child through difficult times with the opening verse depicting God asking "How are you feeling today?" The title track, reflects on sitting at someone's bedside as they are dying ("The hope to which I'm holding on/Is to see you someday/ Beyond the sun"). My favourite is the superb "Set Me Free" with it great blues-tinged backing and a Neil Young-style vocal. Adam has clearly used the gap between albums to develop his craft to a new level. Highly recommended!
