This Canadian singer, songwriter and worship leader's last album produced the Cross Rhythms turntable hit "Darkness In Disguise" so it's pleasing to report that 'Our.Conversation.Behind.The.Veil.' is (despite being irritating to type) has the power and the anointing to impact the Church, particularly those open to the more prophetic dimension of a Jason Upton. Easing us into the album is the hypnotisingly repetitive "Holy Are You God", whose two verses and chorus span over six minutes, Andrew's gentle voice lullabying to the soft backing. The alarm goes off just as "Praise The Lord O My Soul" begins, which boasts a delicious mix of crunchy guitars and flavoursome synth while the Canadian's voice dances over catchy melodies. The up-beat tone continues into "Where They Need Us", featuring lead guitar reminiscent of Stu G, before dropping into the more personal "Our Conversation", the string section bowing the heart strings as well as the violins and cellos. The next few songs somewhat dip in quality, although ending triumphantly with the semi-orchestral extended version of "Our Conversation". Andrew continues to make music that moves away from the stifling stereotypes of many modern worship albums.
