The Gainesville, Florida-based diva, who's enjoyed such major gospel album hits as 1998's 'Now That I'm Here' and two volumes of 'Live From Los Angeles' (2007 and 2010), returns here with a new album which has already enjoyed a number one hit with the old Caravans' classic "Sweeping Through The City" on the Gospel Music Billboard charts. 'Thank You For All You've Done' was recorded live at Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas and is very much a family affair, with family members contributing arrangements, instrumentation and songs. Beverly is firmly from the old school gospel tradition and the vocals spiral and soar with the best being the blues-based "I Need You Now" and a great reworking of "Jesus Precious King". The arrangements are good and the accompanying choirs and instrumentalists create a complex background for Beverly's dynamic lead vocals. There is enough modern influence in the production and arrangements to keep contemporary audiences happy while still retaining all the elements which make African American gospel such an exhilarating musical form.
