Reviewed by Martin Purnell A few years ago, my three favourite American artists (Aerosmith, Black Crowes, Lenny Kravitz) were all on the same bill but it coincided with the Cross Rhythms festival, so I couldn't go. Denied! This album to me displays influences from each of those bands and is truly stupendous. If you like your rock southern fried or hard edged rhythm and blues laced with gutsy blues harp and searing bottle-neck guitar, this is for you. In fact, if you like the electric guitar played with passion, power and if his life depended on it, order this CD now! I'll put it bluntly..this is the best rock album, Christian or mainstream, I have heard in the last two years at least. Track six, "Searchin'", was recently voted on Cross Rhythms radio as my track of the week with a score of 29 and a half out of 30! "Thank You" has one of those riffs that, once heard, you just can't get out of your head. Considering 'Welcome To Wonderland' is on a small American label, the production is as good as it gets. Not surprising I suppose as the knob twiddler is Dez Dickerson who used to play guitar with Prince. Big Fat Jam sound as if they've been playing for years and I reckon must be superb live. With lyrics lifted from the good book, it doesn't get any better than this. The only negative point about the album is that this is the only copy in the building so I have to give it back..with gnashing of teeth!
