Brian Barrett wanders along the musical path from a town called Country heading towards a place called CCM. On his journey he met two men called Russ Taff and James Hollihan Jnr who were busy wandering in the opposite direction. The two men decided to produce BB's album and it resides in a place called Country Pop! Actually best described as country tinged pop to be more accurate, this is Barrett's best yet with his strong voice at home on the uptempo stuff like the wonderful "Jimmy Got Saved" as well as the more mellow tunes. There are two absolutely classic ballads here. "Write It On My Heart" stopped me in my tracks and examines the way we are desperate for God to change us from deep inside. "In Time" sums up the ache of so many single Christians who long to be married. Poignant and beautiful. If you like new country or simply love well crafted CCM songs with strong melodies, this will press all the right buttons.

What a nice follow up to this newcomer of 90's ccm. I'll never forget hearing pop polished tune "HE Still Moves Stones" on ccm airwaves. Great tune, just luv the song completely!! I also have the video for the song. I had also heard "Jimmy Got Saved" another radio fave. The opening cd song "Soul Surrender" has that Garth Brooks' flavor; great song! "Write it on my Heart" has those familiar words that we as believers need to hear time and again! This song also contains the cd title phrase "Nailed in Stone". Who cannot relate to "In Time", it's another that hits home, to the bone; as well as "One Prayer Away". The cd closes with gentle reminders in the song "HE is There";so often it seems we forget this. This is another fine production; glad to see that ccm pioneer Russ Taff had a hand in it. I was expecting to hear more than just 2 cd's from this very talented ccm artist. Can anyone supply an update as to what Brian is doing these days? thanks!GOD Bless!- Don

I donĀ“t know the nailed in stone-album, but I think, "the cross road" is one of the greatest countrysongs ever. Brian, this is really a masterpiece!
