I was pleasantly surprised by the maturity of musicianship and songwriting found on this five-track EP. C-14 are a four-piece rock band from the West Country previously known as Carbon 14 and sport a sound that is polished and contemporary. A recent tour supporting Reef and some high-profile headliners have helped them to build a strong following. Comparisons have been made to Pearl Jam and Audioslave. There are certainly elements of grunge rock here, mixed with a touch of Britrock, but the overall effect is fresh and original. C-14 are certainly going to be a band to watch out for.
