One of the most exciting new movements in British Christian music is the rise of some great gospel acid jazz bands like Phatfish, Funky Beehive and Capitaan. Now ICC are hearteningly getting behind this fine band with the release of their debut, an EP. Attentive readers/listeners will already know the infectious opener "Come Into My Life" which was featured on the Cross Rhythms Experience Vol 14 and which you need to hear in its entirety. There are gems elsewhere, catch Anthony Gorry's laid-back vocal and cool flute on "Elegance", while "Resurrected Man" is a delicious lugubrious groove. Lyrics are spiritually deep too. One to buy.
