Before this release, Washing DC's Capital Kings were known for their remixes of various artists from TobyMac to Britt Nicole (both of whom are collaborators on this album), but in the form of a self-titled collection of original material, Cole Walowac and Jon White have showcased that they are much more than just remixers, however gifted. Think Owl City meets Newsboys with a hint of TobyMac and that's what you can expect from this album. It may therefore come as no surprise that four tracks ("We Belong As One", "Living For The Other Side", "I Feel So Alive" and "Ready For Home") were co-written with TobyMac, giving a hip-hop edge to the otherwise heavily electronic pop-based songs. Notable tracks are "We Belong As One" and "Born To Love", featuring TobyMac and Britt Nicole respectively. Both are hugely anthemic tracks which are upbeat, relevant and if they ever find their way to British clubland would be undoubted floor-fillers. Other tracks such as "I Feel So Alive" and "The Paradigm" are much more dance-orientated, giving testament to the duo's inventive production style. It's been a long while since US CCM has brought us anything danceworthy but this talented twosome are making up for lost time.
