'Immortality' dips its Christian motifs in dark atmospherics and sharpens the edges of its soundscape with the coarse thrashings of Si Consiglio's metal riffs. It's an experience not too dissimilar from CCM giant Kutless, an admitted influence of these lads from St Helen. "Moving Targets" and the closing title track exemplify this fusion of accessible rock that remains raucous enough to please longer haired head-bangers. While it wouldn't be fair to say that Cenacle are merely heading along a well traversed path (indeed, hints of progressive digression can be found in the more structurally diverse "Closer", a song that speaks of seeking God with consistent sincerity), 'Immortality' hasn't delivered enough originality to single them out as a band truly distinguished in style either. This isn't exactly a rare problem for new bands however, and now that the Consiglio brothers have found a stable four-piece line-up we can hope to see Cenacle improving with future releases.

I agree 100% with the above!! This band, Cenacle deserve a lot more than a 6 out of 10!!
Their music is definately different from the current indie genre which most bands are now influenced by and lets be honest - It is getting rather boring! - Cenacle bring freshness in their songs, with their lyrics bringing great truth!
But, before stumbling across their review on here I hadn't heard of these guys. They need to promote themselves! There is nothing wrong with Christian Bands and Promotion!
If Cenacle do start getting themselves around the UK I am sure great things will happen!! I hear huge potential in their sound and see they are extremely talented musicians waiting for their chance to rock!!

A fairly decent review. However there are a few points I disagree with. After listening to their myspace and the songs that are on there I would have to disagree with the Kutless link. Their music being heavier but also having more of an influence from secular bands including Incubus, Hoobastank, Lostprophets etc. While they have obvious influence from said bands they still provide us with hints of originality and definite promise for their next EP or album.

Finally a long awaited change from the indie scene that is so prevalent in Britain at the moment including within the Christian circles.

Overall for this EP I give them an 8/10 and look forward to hearing more from them.
