An independent producer for the last two decades, Dave Pearson offers up this first demo under the name DJEH. Musically drawing heavily on the dance sound of 2001/2, this one-man show sings simple and positive lyrics (the clue being in the titles) eg, "U Want Him 2 Today" and "1 U Trust". Regrettably, Dave appears to have been listening too carefully to deep-chilled house albums of this period, as some of the tracks are uncannily similar to these, in tune and, at points, lyrical content. Although I'm sure this demo comes with the best intentions, a little bit more originality wouldn't have gone amiss. A cheesy, voice-over invite to become a Christian does not redeem the out-of-date sound and neither does the pointless final track: simply a slowed down version of an earlier number. With some obvious production talent and a reasonable singing voice, DJEH needs to go back to the drawing board and, at least, listen to some CURRENT electronic music.
