This album comes as a welcome successor to 'The Music Of Daniel Bashta' and its standout number "Like A Lion", a track used by God to prompt the gift of a baby out of a potential abortion and into the Bashta family without the mother being aware of the connection. Hearing the new album is to listen to faith being converted into music in honour of the all-knowing, saving God whose Bashta's missionary parents served and brought him up to know. There are many album highlights; "Suddenly" (featuring Alexander Tseitland on haunting strings) must surely become a congregational worship classic - "We call out your name and we'll call it again/Suddenly come just like you promised." "In The Ruins" features a compelling drum and bass combo from Aaron Sterling and Curt Schneider, with a harmonious keyboard introduction from J T Daly. There's a lyric to match - "Come unlock these barricades, every temple we have falsely made." The album opens with Bashta looking for "the real Jesus" ("Give me the real thing, not just religion") in "I Want It All"; maybe he could try reading my The Jesus Discovery. A few tracks suffer from unnecessary breath sounds and the sleevenotes have an affected sloppiness. But no matter, 'The Invisible' with its prophetic lyrics and compelling musical underscore gets better with every listen.
