Unpretentious and unselfconscious Darrel hawks around the stage looking ready to pounce, shaking his head from side to side, bending, straightening, dancing like a marionette, he is a formidable stage presence. He sings infrequently leaving most of it to SIP; he's the anchor man, holding it all together. Mind you, when he does sing he knows how to let those blues phrases rasp through the ether. It's all quite startling, and very entertaining. Darrel was quickly signed by Smokie Norful's Triune production company when both acts played at the same conference. Darrel has been conducting since the age of eight and when he reached 13 he would sometimes preach when his grandfather/pastor wanted a break. Only four tracks here but they are long and certainly worth watching.
