Deezer D is actually better known as an actor than as a rapper but that doesn't mean that this album won't appeal to rap fans everywhere. Will Smith can do it and so can Deezer D. The ER regular has had his fair share of troubles and some of these are documented on some of the snippets and soundbites employed between tracks so you get the immediate impression that Deezer is a dude who's trying to live right whilst being pursued by a relentless media trying to exploit his celebrity. Whether it's dealing with professional envy in "Jealousy" or satirising those who want to use him to get to others in "Name Droppin'", Deezer does the business with panache. His life story in "Welcome Home" is an excellent testimony to God's love bringing him home. A classy combination of pop melody and rap sensibilities with a strong vibe, this is an excellent hip hop album and a seamless selection of soundbites with a powerful message to boot! Live it up a little and check out Deezer D.
