'Blessed And Cursed' is the soundtrack album to the movie of the same name in which Haddon played the lead role and scripted. The album opens with "I'm Blessed" which was written and performed by Deitrick Haddon and is an upbeat, energy filled track which has already made the Cross Rhythms playlist. "Praise In The House", featuring the vocals of Lowell Pye and the finalist of BET's Sunday Best talent competition Jessica Reedy, is an unforgettable, uplifting song that has you up and dancing. Another standout is by Destiny Child member Michelle Williams who lends her vocals to the beautiful ballad "More Like You" while "One Touch" is sung by Haddon's wife Damita who also stars in the movie. Mrs Haddon is also joined on this track with Sean Harding and Blood Washed. It's an interesting song that keeps you captivated as the vocalists engage in some fiery call and response. Like many soundtrack albums, not everything here works away from the visual images but there is still some solid contemporary gospel sounds that devotees will want to investigate.
