This is a two-for-one set of 2005's 'Disciple' and 2006's 'Scars Remain'. The original Cross Rhythms reviews rated both albums by the Knoxville-based hard rock band at 9 squares, and not much has changed in this regard. Listening to both albums now, 'Scars Remain' is more focused and has a harder edge, however 'Disciple' provides a more varied listening experience and showcases a greater range of musical ideas within the confines of their sound. Both albums have stood up well to the intervening years and still retain the power and vibrancy that was first recorded. If you are like me and enjoy perusing the artwork, lyrics and credit lists on your albums, then the minimal packaging provided will be a big disappointment. However, this is a bargain way to discover two great albums from the back catalogue of a band on the rise. And who can argue against that in the current economic climate?
