'Doc' (real name Milbert) McKenzie along with Aris Smith, Lawrence Scot and Rodney Dickerson consist the current line up of the Hi-Lites, a gospel quartet that has been in various forms since 1967. It took them until the early 1980's to reach the peaks of American Gospel Quartet Convention Award Winners and Stella nominations, although this line up has been intact since 2001. Shontae McKenzie guests with the Chicago Mass Choir on "Worship And Praise The Lord With Me" and son Bryan raps on the bonus track (over the closing credits) "Tell Jesus" keeping the style up to date. If that wasn't enough, Jermaine Jackson is credited with playing bass! Recorded live at Louisberg College, Louisberg, NC, this DVD is the footage to the album of the same name, released in January 2004. Most tracks consist of gospel four part harmonies that would sit well with the generation that bought Four Tops records as teenagers, which might explain the track entitled "Be Kind To Old People" and the classic O'Jays oldie "Love Train". What is really shocking however is the transition track 11, "What A Friend", undergoes. From a stunningly atmospheric rendition that is smoother than a baby's bottom.
