As a member of the quartet Ernie Haase & Signature Sound and his regular Homecoming Friends appearances, Doug found Southern gospel fame. These days he tours as a solo artist and occasionally as part of trio Cana's Voice. Writers on this release include Gloria Gaither, Benjy Gaither and Joel Lindsey, while backing vocals are provided by the outstanding quartet 4th+main which adds an extra something to the album. The title track however, does get the album off to a cheesy start, but then things get better. "Peace On Earth" is a beautiful thought provoking song while "While I Think Of Bethlehem" removes the tinsel and sentimentality from the well-known Christmas story, instead looking at the stark reality of the situation. Throughout there is a distinct country thread running through the collection which, with the original songs, helps the album stand out amongst the deluge of seasonal releases.
