Fallstar have moved to their new label Facedown Records and apparently slightly changed their style. Now metalcore/hardcore, death metal and even rock are piled into the musical mixer. It could be messy and awkward unless done right, but the band from Portland, Oregon manage to pull it off and on this album at least sound a bit like Demon Hunter and Haste The Day. Chris Ratzlaff handles the main vocals (though there are other contributions) and he switches through various stylings (guttural growls, clean vocals, whispered passages, etc). Highlights for me are "El Ray", "Millionaires" and "The Valley" though lyrically Fallstar seem to prefer obscure metaphor so you have to dig deep to hear where they are coming from. But overall a strongish album.
