This seven-track debut collection following a Kickstarter campaign was put together by Hollywood professionals Joel Weldon (voice actor and artist) and Tom Mgrdichian (music producer). The singing is courtesy of Lexi Jones (Harvest Christian Fellowship) and Matthew Scott (High Desert Church), both based in Los Angeles. The result is a highly listenable and approachable collection that will appeal to a wide audience. This is helped by the variety of contemporary styles on offer. "Faithful Lord" sung by Lexi is pure pop, with a Katy Perry style close mic'd vocal which will stick in your head! "Unchained" is an atmospheric song of praise that's suits Matthew's voice perfectly. The track displays the superb mixing skills of Brian Reeves whose previous work includes 'Rattle And Hum' (U2) and Billy Idol, giving most of the collection a gentle rock/pop feel. There is also an interesting version of the hymn "Be Thou My Vision" mixed with another song "Surrendered To You". This is an appealing mini-album which, while not delivering anything distinctly new in style, will reward those who search it out.
