If you've been reading past CRs you'll know they were previously called Seven and their second gig was at a Bon Jovi concert before 50,000! Now with a new name and a US record company contract the Milton Keynes rockers have come up with the best alternative rock album I have ever heard. Every track is deep, rich and melodic. From surges of adrenaline-charged overdrive, to ponderous acoustic guitars; dance-drum loops and solid pounding skins, 'Goes Around Comes Around' has an extremely tight, clear and intelligent production (Adi Winman), with clever technical touches - is it just me, or does the man speaking on "Alcatraz" sound just like Robert D'Nero? "Collide" (you can hear this track on CR cassette issue 47, first track) burst from my Wharfedales and woke me from my apathy: I never usually get into albums on their first few plays. Then came "Under My Skin", "Something Must be Happening", "Pretty You" and "Strangest Thing". WOW!!! "Alcatraz", "Now She's 24" and "Burn" blew me away. I have been listening to this GREAT album every day for a week and show no signs of tiring of it. Tony Cummings and I were discussing the alternative Christian rock scene a few months ago and were both in agreement that the best stuff seemed to be coming from the States. Not anymore! Take it from me, the Brits are back on the case! An absolute masterpiece!
