Released in '98, it seems a shame that it has taken two years for this little gem to reach these shores. Thanks to Spirit Music, however, there is now no excuse not to investigate! 'Turning' provides 13 relentless groove-orientated hard rock/metal anthems for the ardent hard music fan to digest. Well mixed, and with a good variety of sounds, 'Turning' boasts a high level of musicianship at the hands of Miller (guitars/bgvs), Gale (drums) and Breen (bass) allowing Jackson's compelling vocals to punch home the band's message of hope and encouragement for those with ears to hear, Throughout Turning', the band's use of harmonies, both musical and vocal, adds a compellingly rich dimension to their material. Avoiding predictability, Forevertree rely on intelligent arrangements to provide the listener with a welcome variety of sound, enabling the band to communicate clearly the message of each piece. Whilst perhaps not a masterpiece in and of itself, Turning' is by no means run-of-the-mill; merely a welcome calling card from a promising band.
