One of the very few UK-based artists - if that's the right word to use for the worship team of a church - signed to a US record label (in this case LA's Dream Worship), Hereford's Freedom Church here release the followup of their much-streamed 'Uncharted' album. The church's worship pastor Dave Thomas said about this release, "We've captured the sound of our church at a unique time and season. We believe the songs are going to impact people and we can't wait for you to hear it." There are a number of tracks that stand out for me. "Opportunity" is an upbeat worship song which talks about God giving us new opportunities because "his truth and love will last forever." Certainly for a younger generation this is an empowering an uplifting track that could quite easily connect at a youth conference or event. "Leave The Boat Behind" doesn't really have a chorus as such but does have a catchy tag at the end of each verse, "You are the way, the way", while "Because Of The Cross is a rocky song that focusses on Jesus always being with us and therefore He will never fail all because of the cross. I can imagine this sounding great live. However, I did struggle with a number of tracks where the worship leader talked about how as a church this is where they are at, which caused me to disconnect a little. Some great individual songs but some parts of the album didn't work for me.
