Not all country albums get big buck corporations marketing them as 'New'. Gary Lumpkin And Connie Lee Stich are on a small 'indie' label and in the classic 70's tradition of male/female duets sing their songs of love lost and found with a fresh aunthentic (steel, dobro fiddle) accompaniment. Gary, who by the way is a committed believer has a wonderfully world-weary voice, while Connie Lee has a breathy quality of such bronzed-country-gal poignancy that maybe a big record contract isn't too far off. There are several great cuts, the enabling title track, the album's one gospel song, the traditional "Life's Railroad To Heaven". The one big downer is the opening "Let's Hate Ourselves In The Morning". A great song with country chart potential. But believers should, I believe, stay well clear of such paeans to sexual immorality.

"Let's Hate Ourselves In The Morning" is one of my all time favorite honky tonk songs. Gary Lumpkin and Connie Lee Stich are genius here on this delivery of what I called supreme real country music.
