These four are superb. They recently played support to Eden Burning when they toured in Northern Ireland and most people left talking about Halcyon Days and not EB! There is a slight Throes or perhaps Violet Burning sound, while I know one of the band members is keen on Bruce Springsteen of all people! Since EB I have heard them live a number of times and they just keep getting better. Sadly this recording doesn't quite have the edge a live recording might. The lyrics show a certain maturity, dealing in particular with loneliness. "Why do we wait 'til it all falls apart/Until we look above" seems to show what they hope to say. The 7-track album is guitar based with some tremendous solos and catchy hooks. My sister, who hates this style of music, heard one or two of the songs and was then humming them all day! This album is all that's good about CCM - a talented band with something worthwhile to say. These guys should go a long way.
