Hailing from Yorkshire and currently based in Salford, Peacock presents here his first collection of songs intended for congregational worship. If the words of his songs are to be believed there is no doubting the passion he has for Jesus and his desire for others to know him in the way he himself does. Such a passion, however, does not on its own guarantee either a top-notch recording or a successful long term ministry in music. The tracks presented here are electric guitar-driven songs of adoration predicated in the main on the principle of explanatory-verse-leading-into-big chorus. There are enough examples of fresh lyrical ideas to believe that Peacock has a gifting in this direction, but there are a number of issues he will have to address in order to develop from here. 33-plus minutes of music from six songs is too much and the song ideas need to be conveyed more succinctly. Also, Peacock's voice is adequate but is occasionally to be found wanting. Even as a demo CD there needs to be greater variety of texture, mood and feel across the recording.
