In the build up to his new album, Ian is releasing a couple of tracks as singles. One of these is "Happy God", an upbeat and quirky piece of pop with ringing guitars over an almost glockenspiel keyboard line, a smattering of hand claps and some wonderful guitar and keyboard twists. Ian's gruff vocal line powers throughout, with his Liverpudlian accent cutting through every now and then. The lyrics look at how God has set us free and we should live in the joy of this salvation. In summary, a happy, quirky piece of rock worship that is fun to listen to.
