Atlanta's Jamie Grace is a black college student studying children's ministry. Her first single taken from this album, the infectious "Hold Me", featuring CCM star Toby Mac, went to number three in the US Christian radio chart. Jamie's songs, with their acoustic soul vibe, are catchy and instantly memorable. "With You" has a childlike quality, which suits her voice well, but lyrically Jamie has cornered the art of introspective lyrics focusing on her relationship with God while getting the feet tapping! Musically, the pace slows with track five "Come To Me", but the mature songwriting continues as she reflects on Christ's invitation to lift our burdens. At times, as on tracks such as "God Girl" and "Holding On", there are similarities to Natasha Bedingfield's vocal style. My favourite track "1945" features Jamie reflecting on what life would of been like if she had been born in a different time, but concludes she has been born in the right time for her. Amongst all the musical messages aimed at teenagers in the 21st century, it's clear Jamie is a powerful voice to her generation and this album should open doors for her.

Product Description

Spend any time at all with Jamie Grace and it’s obvious that she’s special. Her infectious smile, bright eyes and her expressive way with words are all signs that this is one unique girl.

A hybrid mix of acoustic, pop, hip hop, folk, reggae and the kitchen sink, this just may be the most contagious debut to hit the music scene in decades.

“She writes, sings and plays her own music. And she has this style that can’t be put into a typical label box,” says TobyMac, who signed Jamie Grace after tracking her clever YouTube videos for more than three years.

“When some people sing and play, it’s almost effortless, and their joy is all over them. That’s what grabbed my attention with Jamie Grace. I’ve not been this excited to work with an artist in a long time.”

By the grace of God I've beat Fallopian Tube Disease, throughout this trial, my relationship with God is everything to me forever! God said" and a child shall lead us", oh praise His Holy name! I just turn 54 on April 26, 2012, grateful to all Christian artists because the music has helped me to cope and the lyrics from Jamie Grace has allowed to to effortlessly tell God I love Him. Thanks Jamie for being that whimsical God-loving fun spirit! Thanks for being there for this "old lady" I can truly say "I love the way You (Lord) hold, God bless you always, love you Emily
