Jane is a singer/song writer with a simple yet lyrical style, and she should be very pleased with this album, recorded at Total Sound Studios in Penrith. Jane says in the sleevenotes that the album as a whole took almost 15 years to bring to a conclusion, and the aim of the project is to try and explain how God loves us. The songs span the whole of that 15 year period, and it's a tribute to Jane's skill as a songwriter that the old and the new material has a continuity of style and quality, so that the whole thing hangs together well. There's a little bit of hiss on the recordings (which is only really noticeable when listening on headphones), but Jane has a clear, strong voice, and the end result is very acceptable indeed. If you like intimate and personal songs sung to acoustic guitar with no arty-smarty twiddly bits, then this is well worth your attention.
