Virginia-based Jason's heart is in leading worship so that, while there are some radio-friendly pop songs here, the majority lean much more towards being congregational worship songs. This release was produced by Aaron Rice and Luke Buishas (Mandisa, TobyMac) and there are immediate stylistic comparisons with Chris Tomlin and Lincoln Brewster, both lyrically and musically. From the outset the tone is submission before God's greatness with the mid-tempo but big-sounding "God Of All". Following a couple of songs on the goodness and faithfulness of God comes what is the highlight for me, the reverent "Behold The Lamb Of God" which focuses on the beauty of Jesus and what he did on the cross. Particularly effective is the way the song gently winds down, meandering to the concluding "In him is everything" vocal that poignantly hangs in space over the ending. I plan to try this song in our church. Other highlights are the Latin-influenced duet with Jeannie Ortega, "Love Is Alive" and "Everlasting God", a Psalm-like declaration that the natural world resonates with the glory of the eternal God. An uplifting collection of songs.
