Houston, Texas songsmith Needham's second release is a particularly important one. It is not often that an album can truly mark a point in the artist's life like this one.
His rather "matter-of-fact" view of his faith has now been tempered by a new influence, his new wife. Through his lyrical excellence, where emotive narrative and colourful imagery bring light to the ancient themes of salvation and transcendence. The listener encounters songs which speak to believer and non-believer alike. For example, the bluesy "Hurricane" or the story-in-song "Tossed By The Wind" which nails going off to college and finding one's faith in Jesus ridiculed by an intelligentsia. Jimmy's musical style is elusive, kind of soul-tinged pop blues with a hint of jazz and with echoes of everyone from Maroon 5 to Jamie Cullum. If you've yet to encounter this gifted songsmith, rectify that right away.
