Another of the timely issues in Word's '25th Anniversary' re-issue programme. 'Come Together' was one of the first musicals to demonstrate to mainstream churches that maybe their young people, agitating for change in their youth groups, really could do something to proclaim Christ using pop music styles without necessarily being threatened by the hounds of hell. The Come Together' musical was of course an international success in the 70s, performed in church halls =round the world while its predecessor 'Tell The World' and its follow up 'If My People' were also popular, "racks of those too are also featured here. Of course what was pretty radical in 1974 seems pretty tame today and the Owen's, jaunty, often corny melodies won't impress today's youth. But ageing youth workers and Christian music nostalgists may want this

I am about to give someone a copy of the guitar chords, really an appendix of the Musical Score for "Come Together". I attended a performance of this in summer months, either 1972 or 1973. Can anyone give an exact date for this musical, held in the YMCA, Wellington Place, Belfast, all those years ago. I will have a look at some local newspapers and I have also been in contact with a branch affiliated to the YMCA.

I participated in performances of Come Together and a second musical, the name of which I can't remember, as a young teen. For whatever reason, it has been on my mind a lot lately.JAVA

hi, am looking for "IF MY PEOPLE" and "COME TOGETHER" from the 70s for a birthday present for my mum. Any idea where or if they are available from?

My wife attended a performance in the Albert Hall in the 70s with Pat Boone. During the performance people began screaming and shouting which proved to be demonic manifestations. Pat B stopped the performance and prayed to "bind the spirits".
Does anyone else remember this or was there?

Wow, I remember Come Together on TV back in 72,73 I believe. Pat Boone had recently become charasmatic and the 2rd Chapter of Acts was in its beginning stages. At the time I was somewhat caught up in the Jesus People Movement, and the charasmatic movement that was exploding at that time. 'Come Together' was a musical experience I will never foget. I too bought the album and pretty much wore it out. Here is an hour of total worship that can only be experienced - words cannot come close to describing this experience. I have been waiting to see this one in Cd format as well. Bring it on, please.
