Another of the timely issues in Word's '25th Anniversary' re-issue programme. 'Come Together' was one of the first musicals to demonstrate to mainstream churches that maybe their young people, agitating for change in their youth groups, really could do something to proclaim Christ using pop music styles without necessarily being threatened by the hounds of hell. The Come Together' musical was of course an international success in the 70s, performed in church halls =round the world while its predecessor 'Tell The World' and its follow up 'If My People' were also popular, "racks of those too are also featured here. Of course what was pretty radical in 1974 seems pretty tame today and the Owen's, jaunty, often corny melodies won't impress today's youth. But ageing youth work­ers and Christian music nostalgists may want this
