Reviewed by Alastair McCollum This re-package of the first two albums made by those five enthusiastic Christian kids showcases some great, energetic pop tunes with a simple, straightforward approach musically and spiritually. It's easy to dismiss this kind of music as vacuous and lightweight, and on first listen I was inclined to do this, but these CDs keeps finding their way back to my stereo, with heavy bass lines, boppy synth sounds, great vocals with tight harmonies and inoffensive lyrics it's highly listenable, toe-tapping power pop. The real appeal of these CDs is that they don't pretend to be something they aren't - opening with the keyboard blast and joy of "Spinnin' Around" and closing with dancy remix of "All I Can Do" this is faith filled fun. Jump5, who existed from 2001 to 2007 - latterly as a foursome - were aimed at the tweeny/teeny market, and were picked up by many family friendly radio and TV stations including Disney Radio in the USA. Though released in 2001 and 2002 respectively, their music has aged well and is as infectious as it ever was. There are slightly mellower songs such as "Change A Heart, Change A Life", "Angel In My Heart" and "I Wish I Could Read Your Mind" but none of these are downbeat. In short this two for one re-release has 21 well crafted, positive, pop songs including three remix versions. Pop perfection!
