23 year old Memphis-based singer/songwriter KC Johns recently appeared at the Revival FM Festival of Music in Perth, Scotland and her third EP sees the songstress offer up five songs that reference her faith and seek to point others to Jesus. Whilst she is arguably yet to find her own distinctive sound aside from the default Nashville new country singer setting, Johns' songs benefit from the slick production of Scott Godsey together with a raft of quality musicians that bolster the delivery of the material on offer here. Johns' personal journey of faith is referenced in the likes of the title track and the Amazon UK top five download hit "Silly Questions" which will connect with her presumably mostly adolescent female target audience on account of the subject matter following the inward-looking trend of similar songs in the same genre. Elsewhere, the more upbeat "Speak Through Me" and the power ballad "One Day You Will" add some variety to proceedings and, together with the positive closing track "I'm Free", offer up the message of hope found through Jesus and hint at promising things to come from Miss Johns.
