The story of Keith Green has been told in book form in No Compromise and now there's a DVD that plots the course of his life from '60s wannabe teen pop star to '70s groundbreaking spiritual musician. The story is narrated by TobyMac and features interviews with his widow Melody Green and best friends Randy Stonehill and Todd Fishkind. It also draws from entries in his private journals and mixes footage from home movies, rare photographs and films of his live concerts. His intensity is well captured and within the positive picture of his life, there are plenty of reality checks that point out Green's weaknesses as well as triumphs. From his musical exploits to his desire to help others and live in community, Keith's intensity achieved more in half a dozen short years than many Christians achieve in a lifetime. There are interviews with producers, record company staff and stories behind Keith's music. His growth into the premier Christian artist of his generation is mapped out and Melody tells the heartbreaking story of the day that he died in a private plane crash. It's a fascinating story from one of Christian music's most radical ministers. Keith's passion is timeless and we still need artists today to pursue God with as much intensity.
