I don't know anything about Lawson Spiller (who is a person, not a group!) except that ICC think highly enough of him to produce this album. He is obviously an experienced and polished performer with a strong country-style voice (at times sounding uncannily like Don Francisco). However, the whole thing left me cold and wishing I was reviewing something else instead. Why? Well, this whole album consists of self-penned songs and while Lawson Spiller writes some very touching and heartfelt lyrics - on the title track and "You Are So Beautiful" in particular - his tunes are not of the same standard and are generally pretty forgettable. There's one track "Evolution Song" which strikes me as a real mistake, a rock V roll style number with a decidedly forced line in humour. Probably the best track is "Without Love" with its catchy chorus but overall this is not an album I would ever want to listen to again.

I just can not stop listening to the album ABAVE THE CLOUD I just can not get tired of and I can not stop imposing this music to any one I know. Great music ever, I don’t know if you will ever make an album to superpass this one. Whoo glory be to God, what a gift given to his servant Lawson

I have been involved with Lawson's music from an early age and helped produce his very first cassette album, 'Glory to the Lamb' over 20 years ago. More recently I toured with him in the Jesus in Blue Jeans musical. Although I have not been directly involved in his last 3 albulms his latest one, 'Masterpiece' is his best work to date by far. Anyone who has not yet heard it...it's a MUST! His lyrics and the msuical production on his offerring of songs shows a new more cutting edge side to Lawson.

I have just managed to order this CD as I had the tape back in 1997 and could not find it. I bought it when Lawson spoke and sang to a small audience at a meeting in Virginia Water. It was both inspiring and funny and I am delighted to have finally tracked this down as I am sorry to say I couldn't remember his name! I remembered some excellent words though and am really looking forward to hearing it again!!! Do not be put off by the critic.

I can't believe the writer of this review doesn't appreciate the shear anointing, talent and gifting of Lawson! Evolution is a fab song and I love the tunes too!

Yeah, this is a great cd.
The reviewer must have had a really bad day and have been in some kinda mood before he sat down and listened to it.
The whole album is full of polished easy listening pop-type songs, with inspired lyrics!!!
It's a shame Lawson has remained so undiscovered over the past two decades, which has meant that he has only been able to produce 3 albums. Unfortunately that's the way the music business is for most artists - it's a very fickle industry and you need a bit of luck to make a big break.
I've heard the first album on tape - It's a great one. This one is his second one, and is even better, and I've just bought his last one "Masterpiece" and it's in the post as we speak. Very excited about it.

This is a brilliant CD, it was sent to me by a 90 year old relative and it has inspired and blessed us both greatly. God bless Lawson Spiller!
