The standard of performance and songwriting is way above the usual for independent releases but then the man behind this group, Florida's George Brantley Ratzlaff, once made a dent in the mainstream. The vocal on the dance track "You" is by Laura Cassidy Ratzlaff and the piano ballad "Everything" is written, arranged and performed by Paige Lewis Ratzlaff. The ladies also perform backing vocals. The title track eases you into the album and is followed by "Been There Done That", a change of tempo and very clever way of expressing the heart of the Christian message. Writing is of high quality throughout and there is great clarity of voice from George and the ladies. George also has the impressive ability to change the texture of his voice, from the calm opening track to the later funkier songs, one of which is "Less Than A Minute", which includes reference to 9-11 with a telling lyric about how quickly something can happen to bring dramatic change. Here's an exceptional independent album you'll be hearing on Cross Rhythms radio in the coming months.
