This New York-based singer has put together a collection of very personal songs on this rather mixed bag of a CD. At times there are some pleasant sections but it's hard to identify any tracks that ultimately satisfy. Both the musical arrangements and backing vocals seem awkward, and even dominating, at times when letting her own voice do the work might have been better. The upbeat opener "Against The Struggle" and the soulful "Lord You Love Me" were favourites but I can't help feeling that Linda's talents need to come under the influence of someone who can bring out the best of her smooth and rangy vocals in a more sophisticated and controlled production. A typical example of this is "Trouble Times" which sets off as a fine slow bluesy piece led by Linda's rich vocal but is undermined by a rather unimaginative arrangement, is then interrupted by carolling backing vocals, finally fading away inconclusively. It all leaves a sense of unrealised potential.

Thank you very much for your review. If you have any suggestions on how to find a producer who would be interested in taking someone such as myself and bringing out the best of my talents. That is what I need. I am regular 9-5 working person. I just don't know where to look.
