For the last couple of years, I had heard rumours that this church had one of the coolest worship groups around and on the evidence of this, the rumours were true! Taking church worship to another level, London CLC's debut album mixes some of the best British R&B vibes with strong worshipful lyrics that focus on God SO that whichever way you listen to this, you get blessed! Vocalist Mark Griffiths has the chops to give the whole project a soulfulness while he is superbly supported by the beautiful guitars of Kerry Mundey and some cool sax from Charles Pagan which drifts in and out making its mark on the proceedings. The lush smooth sound highlights all that's best with British soul - intertwining lead and backing vocals and some fab grooves. This is great stuff. Outstanding are "No Fear" where I love Miguel Brown's backing and "Born Again" where rapper David Mark celebrates salvation. "Lamb Of God" has one of those exuberant joyful grooves that makes you want to jump up! It also features vocals from former pop starlet Sinitta! But it is the magnificent "Love To Sing Your Praises" which opens and closes the album which totally steals the show. Overall, this is simply wonderful and deserves your investigation. As for me, I'm praying that this is the first of a new breed of worship albums.
