A live album that on the face of it seems good value – 10 tracks and 74 minutes’ run time, with a cover photograph of a righteously emotional sista who looks as if she might know a thing or two about serving up some church wreckin’ hot gospel. Once I started playing the thing, however, it turned out to be not quite what I had expected. The first three tracks take up nearly 20 minutes and it’s pretty turgid stuff, especially when Marvia takes six minutes and 28 seconds to grind her way painfully slowly through Bill Gaither’s “There’s Something About That Name”. Compounding the felony is a so atrociously off-key plod through “Lord I Lift Your Name On High”, that if I were Rick Founds, I’d be on the blower to my lawyers. There must be a market somewhere for this sort of church-wrecking gospel stuff, but I suspect honkie guys like me are culturally on a different planet to those for whom this is intended. The several extended medleys are dully arranged and hugely stylised. Despite getting some mainstream distribution from Jet Star, this is one of the weakest gospel celebrations I’ve heard for many a year.

I think the guy that write this review does't know talent when he hear it.
Why do you have to be so darn cold, like she committed some heinous crime?

Trevor Kirk.

Why do you have to be so darn cold, like she committed some heinous crime?

State your case in nicer fashion.
