Accomplished musician, ordained Minister and founder of Rebirth International Ministry, American Mo Leverett presents a 13-track effort heavily influenced by his proud southern roots along with a musical insight of current local and historical observations. Blending sporadic light hearted lyricism with that of a more frank and sober nature provides a healthy contrast throughout the recording. The latter sentiment, felt strongest in the dark "Little White Lies", boldly depicts a tale of racial injustice, providing a glimpse of history through this artist's bold writing style. Vocally Leverett peaks on the more powerful melodies in such songs as "The River" and the title track though also competently emotive when required. Timely instrumental break downs are scattered throughout. It is easy to find the caring heart which is the driving force behind the music from a gifted acoustic songsmith who'll keep the ear attentive.
