These albums were recorded during a conference in the Morning Star church in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1996. MS is a large charismatic church pastored by Rick Joyner, the increasingly popular speaker and prophet at conferences in the USA. This church is heavily into the prophetic (with ex-Kansas City prophet Bob Jones on the ministry team) as well as intense spiritual warfare. Their theological stance is important here because the church’s worship is based on this theology, just as Vineyard music goes hand-in-hand with Vineyard teaching, and Keswick Praise is very much linked to Keswick theology, etc. Morning Star certainly take worship seriously – it forms a very significant part of their ministry with substantial funds being ploughed into their recording equipment, training of musicians, etc. And it shows – these are very professionally produced albums. When first advertised, the reader was advised to pray seriously before purchasing any of these products, as only those with strong hearts would be able to appreciate them. He was strongly encouraged not to listen to the music while driving or within two hours of going to bed!

Heh...I love listening to MorningStar while driving...the beats help keep me awake. Particularly these older discs with Charles Barnett on the percussion...very nice!
