Moses Kitchen are a melodic pop rock band from Basingstoke whose previous self-titled album was reviewed by Cross Rhythms awhile back. Here they offer a full album. 10 studio tracks and two bonus live recordings. As you might expect of an established band they sound pretty tight rhythmically and the songs have a certain momentum. The combination of rocky guitars, keyboard and sax takes me back a bit to the '80s, the 'new wave' of bands that emerged after the post-punk dust had settled. Mostly it reminds me of a now long lost Martha And The Muffins album (reminisce) which may not help you. Anyway the two live tracks prove that they can also do a good job when live and would be worth seeing if you got the chance. Failing that here is a solid collection of what Moses Kitchen are about.
