Mykurios from Lincolnshire play in a variety of venues from local pubs and bars to school assemblies, church events and even prisons. Unfortunately this album isn't as varied as their gig list. To support their ministry the band has recorded this self-titled debut album. From the opening track it is clear that the vocals are the band's weakest area and consequently lessen the impact of the album. Less of a rock band more of an acoustic outfit with some bursts of rock guitar, the album's loudest moments happen when the guitarist turns his amp to 11, but the resulting solos are all too predictable. The album does have a couple of hopeful songs such as "Run" and "Outta My Head", but sadly, like most of the material on the album, they fail to register melodically. "Father" and "How I Long To" are ruined by poor vocals while the cover of "My Glorious" does not come close to the Delirious? original. Clearly, Mykurios have a live ministry, but this album doesn't do them justice.

Thanks to all of you guys for your comments and to Megan for the review of the 2005 studio album.
The last couple of years have seen our ministry continue to grow with many live event opportunitues and out of one of those events in May 07 "Dare2" we have recorded a new live album "Dare2 Worship" which was released in Jan 08 www.nlcm.org.uk.
Check out www.myspace.com/mykurios for updates on the band and the new music.
In His name and for His glory.

I think that My Kurios are good, and there is nothing wrong with Russ' vocals. I thoroughly enjoy their music on Sunday morning worship, and I love when they come to school and play there, because they are spreading the Good News.
I disagree that no personal comments were introduced into this review.
"Less of a rock band more of an acoustic outfit with some bursts of rock guitar, the album's loudest moments happen when the guitarist turns his amp to 11, but the resulting solos are all too predictable." Is very personal in my opinion.
Keep up the good work guys! =]

I find that my kurios copy the same power chords so many times in a song that they are nothing but a waste of time. Also they are not as bad as a christian band that claim in their lyrics that they have more fruit than sainsbury's!! Please discuss....... Roy Tilley

The album may come under criticism but this group from Sleaford have been able to manifest the word of God in the heart of Lincolnshire. This band embodies all the qualities of a high class worship/evangalist group and can perform live extremely well. Lyrically the band can not be faulted as the choice of lexis exalts God. I found the albums general phonology inspiring and a great representation of their love for God.

{My Kurios}has come on leaps and bounds when i hear them play in church and in schools i think this is a great way to get more and more people in touch with Jesus and God. But it disheartens me when i read -"Father" and "How I Long To" are ruined by poor vocals while the cover of "My Glorious" does not come close to the Delirious? original" that it isnt enough just to listen to a cd but you have to get to know the band as people a get behind the voices on the cd. i think {My Kurios}are excellent and i will forever keep with them to spread the word of Jesus.
