A relaxing instrumental album with some classical influences, Nicky Keates has done an excellent job in creating something which is simple in its execution and beautiful in its impact. This is inspirational music in the real sense of the phrase with the emphasis on creating lyrical passages of music to allow God to speak to you as you listen. Born out of Nicky's own prayer times, there are a number of different sources of inspiration from passages of Scripture that she's read and other books as well as the testimony of her daughter who provides the catalyst for "Karen's Theme (No More Hurts)". Relying mainly on Nicky's fluid piano playing as well as occasional use of keyboards and flute, the only other musician is Mike Collins who contributes some sax. Many others have tried this sort of meditative approach to instrumental music but normally they resort to simply "interpreting" classic hymns and choruses and it makes a refreshing change to hear Nicky's original music. Good stuff.
