I listened to this album before I read the blurb that came with it and at first did not realise it was a worship band, such is their style. This is reminiscent of the many British guitar-based bands around on the secular scene at the moment and I can imagine this having great appeal amongst teenagers and twentysomethings. A five piece, this is their home produced debut offering and is very professionally presented and nicely packaged. The songs are good, if a little lyrically cliched, but the execution allows for these to be expressed in an original way. Tim Barton's vocals are really the weakest element and could do with more support and better phrasing. I wonder how much of this was down to recording nerves but I suspect that with some vocal coaching these could really shine. I have been where these guys are and I really want to encourage them in their ministry and the direction in which they are taking - we need more groups like this! Overall then, a good introduction, which I am sure will become more refined with experience and well worth a listen.
