Innovation doesn't always seem to be Christian music's finest asset and unfortunately London-based Nu Starr's “God Is Love” appears to be a good example of that. The single itself is well placed for the summer with its light acoustic guitar rhythm and garage vibe. It has received play by prominent gospel DJs, such as 1Xtra's DJ Fitz, but it is rather bland. Producer Olu Olufowobi has been around the garage and d'n'b scene under different guises since the early ‘90s, vocalist Ann Brown has a fine voice but “God Is Love” just doesn't push the contemporary gospel envelope one bit.
