I first heard of this album when its creators had somehow persuaded Nelson Word to sell it on their Spring Harvest stand. The promotional material claimed it to be 'Britain's first Christian rave album' which certainly caused the eyebrows to rise a little. It's certainly the first I've heard which combines a consistent rave-up (from beginning to end) with fiercely evangelical lyrics and samples. This is not to demean the work by the likes of the Worldwide Message Tribe, whose work is more varied, but simply to recognize this for what it is - hard Christian rave music - no more, no less. OS1 turn out to be Rob May (Funky Beehive) and Antony Norris, who is a producer on the secular rave scene. So who am I to argue with these guys? But argue I must. There a couple of useful tracks, particularly "Happens To Be Obedient", but the overall result is disappointing. Several of the rhythm tracks sound messy and the instrumentation/arrangements are neither striking nor particularly original. It's so tempting just to praise up anything that's British, overtly Christian and truly contemporary, but I have to be honest and say that you'll get much better value from the American Myx label stuff.
