In much the same vein as label mates Slick Shoes and Craig's Brother, Off The Record blend the very best in new school punk with hard alternative rock. The difference is, Off The Record have more in common with metal than punk. Blending the very best in melodies with passages of rich, full rhythms, Off The Record, like Element 101, offer a welcome take on the popular pop rock genre. Both Danny Hidalgo's drumming and Chris Lozaria's bass lock together, forming a solid rhythm section over which the twin guitar work of Dan Atkinson and Ryan Scheveller are empowered to add the weighty punch that sets the band apart. Standout cuts include the multi-textured "Good Times", complete with excellent harmonies and rhythms section; and the metallic "Bullet". Produced, engineered and mixed by the talented Bill Stevenson, 'Remember When' has all the potential of making big waves within the ever expanding genre of post punk rock.Rating: 9
